OpenAI ChatGPT Agent bringt uns näher zu vollständig autonomem Computing

ChatGPT Agent

Alright, so OpenAI just dropped something called ChatGPT Agent. It’s not your usual chatbot. This one’s built to actually get things done for you.

Like real tasks. Not just answering features. I’m talking about multi-step tasks. Stuff like planning your meetings, booking a table based on your schedule, or even preparing slide decks after analyzing your competitors. Basically, it acts like a digital version of yourself that can handle boring or repetitive work.

It’s kind of like giving your computer instructions and letting it figure things out, without you needing to click around or stay on it the whole time. Let’s get deeper into it.

Was ist los mit ChatGPT Agent? OpenAIs neuer KI-Assistent erklärt

Was macht es anders als normales ChatGPT?

This isn’t like talking to GPT-3 or 4 where you ask and get an answer. ChatGPT Agent is more like an actual KI-Assistent.

It’s powered by a new model (OpenAI didn’t name it yet) that’s trained specifically to handle complicated workflows.

It can use different tools together like a browser, a terminal, even a visual browser. So, it’s not just smart in conversation, it knows how to Werkzeuge nutzen und Probleme lösen, like a human would do using a PC.

They basically took two of their old internal tools, Operator and Deep Research, and combined them into this new one. A small focused team worked on it, like 20–35 people, which kinda shows how streamlined the project is.

Einige coole Dinge, die es tun kann

So during the demo, OpenAI showed some real stuff this agent can pull off. Like, say you wanna plan a date.

It’ll check your Google Kalender, find available slots, cross-check with OpenTable, and book it — while letting you change things midway if needed.

There’s also this example where it made a full-on research doc comparing Labubus vs Beanie Babies. Sounds funny, but it’s a big thing in toy collector space. And it did that from scratch, pulling up relevant info, checking facts and all that.

Also, one of the team leads said she uses it for online shopping. It works better than older tools apparently. Another one uses it to book his office parking every week. So yeah, it’s real-world useful.

Was ist mit Sicherheit? Wird es Dinge von selbst tun?

Nope. That’s one thing they were clear about. ChatGPT Agent doesn’t just start sending emails or buying stuff on your behalf. Before it does anything irreversible, it’ll ask for permission. And for now, finanzielle Aktionen sind blockiert.

There’s also a “ Watch Mode ” if you want extra safety while it’s browsing sensitive pages. They’re using some of the same safeguards they use for high-risk things like bio or chem AI use cases. So yeah, they’re being careful with it.

Also, it’s not super fast, but that’s kinda the point. You tell it what to do, leave it, and check back later. Saves you time without needing to babysit it.

Wer kann es nutzen?

Right now, it’s rolling out to Pro, Plus, and Team users. You’ll find it in the tools section under agent mode, or you can just type /agent to start.

OpenAI said Enterprise and Education folks will get it later this summer. Also, users in Europa und der Schweiz have to wait a bit longer.

Honestly, ChatGPT Agent looks like where AI tools were always heading. A proper assistant that you don’t have to guide every second.

It’s like handing off work to someone who actually understands how to use a computer. Whether you’re working, researching, or just organizing life, it might save you loads of effort.

But yeah, it’s still early, and we’ll have to see how people actually use it in real life. But it’s promising, no doubt.
